How is A2 Gir Cow Ghee made?

Himalayan Natives A2 Gir Cow Ghee is made from the A2 milk of Purebred Gir Cows found in Gujarat. It is 100% natural, raw and preservative free. Moreover, this ghee contains A2 protein that adds to its nutritional value.

What is A2 protein and how is it beneficial?

A2 protein is found only in the milk of desi cow breeds like Gir, Sahiwal etc. The ghee is made from A2 milk that makes digestion easier and improves overall health.

How and where do you source milk from?

For this Ghee, we ethically source milk from Purebred Desi Gir Cows of Gujarat who are treated with utmost respect & love in mineral rich farms. They are freely grass-fed, not grain fed, and not injected with hormones for increasing milk productivity.

How can we identify pure cow ghee?

The simplest way to check the purity is to do a pan test. Add a teaspoon of ghee to a pan and heat it. If the ghee starts melting immediately and turns dark brown, it is pure. However, if it takes time to melt and is yellow in colour, then it is adulterated.

What should be the ideal consistency of my Ghee?

The texture of a traditionally made ghee can be grainy, solid, creamy or liquid, they are all natural and totally normal forms of Ghee. The variety of healthy fatty acids in the Ghee combined with its storage temperature define the texture of the Ghee.
Ghee that cools more rapidly, has a more solid texture than Ghee that is cooled slowly which then retains a softer or even completely liquid texture. The change in texture doesn't affect the taste, quality and shelf life of the Ghee and is perfectly safe to consume.

What should be the ideal colour of Pure Cow Ghee?

Himalayan Natives Desi Ghee is 100% Natural, made using the pure desi cow milk and by traditional methods. This might lead to variations in the colour and texture every time you buy it. This is because no essence, colour or standardization process is done to make the ghee look and taste the same every single time. Ideally, the color of desi cow ghee is yellowish, yellow or golden. It is never pure white, but it can be pale with light golden liquid on the top.
