How is A2 Badri Ghee made?

Badri is a native cow species from the hills of Uttarakhand. The A2 milk from free-grazing badri cows is used to make this ghee. The resulting ghee has a grainy texture, thick consistency, and is rich in flavour & aroma. The A2 protein-rich milk further adds to the nutritional value of this ghee.

Why is A2 Ghee good for health? What is the difference between A2 & A1 milk?

Cow's milk contains 2 types of proteins A1 and A2. A1 protein is obtained from the milk of cows of western origin whereas A2 protein is obtained from milk of cows of Indian Origin like Badri, Gir, Pahadi and more. The milk with A2 protein is believed to be easier to digest and healthier than other westernized cow breeds' milk. It might help lower blood pressure, reduce inflammation, lower cholesterol levels, reduce the risk of heart disease and improve insulin sensitivity, energy and stamina.

What should be the ideal consistency of my Ghee?

The texture of a traditionally made ghee can be grainy, solid, creamy or liquid, they are all natural and totally normal forms of Ghee. The variety of healthy fatty acids in the Ghee combined with its storage temperature define the texture of the Ghee. Ghee that cools more rapidly, has a more solid texture than Ghee that is cooled slowly which then retains a softer or even completely liquid texture. The change in texture doesn't affect the taste, quality and shelf life of the Ghee and is perfectly safe to consume.

What should be the ideal colour of Pure Cow Ghee?

Himalayan Natives Desi Ghee is 100% Natural, made using the pure desi cow milk and by traditional methods. This might lead to variations in the colour and texture every time you buy it. This is because no essence, colour or standardization process is done to make the ghee look and taste the same every single time. Ideally, the color of desi cow ghee is yellowish, yellow or golden. It is never pure white, but it can be pale with light golden liquid on the top.
